Welcome to Trinity Fields
A few words from our new Principal
I am really pleased to be able to write some words for the homepage of our school website. Born and raised in the Cynon Valley I have spent the past 24 years working within special education, both in mainstream and special schools, mainly across South Wales, having started my teaching career in Gloucester back in the late 1980s.
My interview for this exciting post at Trinity Fields seems ages ago - in fact it was only in April. Over the Summer Term (2012) I have been able to spend some time in the school getting to know pupils, staff, governors and some parents. I look forward to meeting many more of you at events that we will hold throughout the term.
One of my biggest challenges in the coming weeks is to work with all partners to prepare Trinity Fields for our upcoming inspection which is scheduled for some time this autumn term. I know that we will be able to rely on your support and encouragement so that we get the best possible outcomes for pupils and the school.
Croeso - Welcome
On behalf of our pupils, staff and governors I would like to take this opportunity of welcoming you to our website. Trinity Fields School, situated in the community of Ystrad Mynach, is a busy, forward-looking school that provides education and specialist facilities for pupils aged 3 to 19 with a wide range of learning difficulties.
Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre is a purpose built school which opened in 1998 and offers its pupils many unique and innovative features in order to develop their skills.
At Trinity Fields we aim to promote learning, self-esteem and confidence of all our pupils by providing rich learning opportunities for them to develop their skills and understanding, and creating an exciting school community which is child-centred, empowering and inclusive.
We will work with all of our partners to provide an attractive learning environment, and we will ensure that our dedicated staff team are highly skilled and have access to specialist equipment and outstanding facilities to meet pupils’ needs. These integrated facilities will provide pupils with the very best learning opportunities and resources which support our vision to become a Centre of Excellence.
We are all committed to a “TEAM” ethos; this will guide all aspects of our work. I hope that our website gives you some insight into our work but having said this I would encourage you to visit our school as it is impossible to capture our ethos and unique character in words and photographs.
On behalf of pupils, staff and governors I look forward to welcoming you to Cae’r Drindod - Trinity Fields.
With my best wishes,
Ian Elliott
Principal
